I love how Johnny Depp decided to keep the classic vampire look for Barnabas Collins. Almost all classic vampires have beautiful heirlooms with them and I have decided to "recreate" his ruby necklace.
Since I do not have a red ruby there are a few ways to do it. One is to get a fake ruby from craft stores or to create a fake red ruby with red paper. I have decided to use the 2nd method as I have all the materials at home.
This is a simple project. You need:
1) A necklace (I am using one I braided for another previous project)
2) A cameo base setting and clear epoxy resin stickers (I got them on etsy)
3) An ornament
4) A red paper
5) Hot glue gun
6) Sissors
7) Jump rings
Step 1:
Cut the red paper such that it fits the cameo base setting.
Step 2:
Stick the red paper to the cameo base setting. Step 3:
Stick the ornament on the centre of the necklace.
Step 4:
Stick the clear epoxy resin sticker over the cameo base setting.
Last step:
Attach the cameo base setting onto the necklace with the jump rings.
Tah Dah! Your own ruby necklace!
Do I remind you of Barnabas Collins? :)
Ash :o)

Cool and creative! There is a kind of glue-looking liquid that can be used to fill the pendant instead of the sticker u used. Next time u can try that! Can be found at a beads craft shop at far east plaza.
ReplyDeleteyou did a fabulous job! i love when johnny depp dresses up in dark character.
