Baby bump memory

Hi ladies, how is everyone doing? I'm kind of used to my new role as a mother and now able to fit my own activities into baby's schedule. Hee, blog posts may not come in as often as before because I'm still taking things slowly but it definitely feels good to be back!

For a start, I like to share with all of you some photos of a simple maternity shoot hubby did for me when I was close to week 38 of my pregnancy. These are the last shots of me with my bump before I pop a week later.

I'm still pretty out of shape to fit into most of my pre-pregnancy stuffs. Time to start working out or get more new clothes!! hah! I will pop by to say hi at your blog soon!

A bright start for Chinese New Year!

Hi ladies! hee, no no I haven't pop yet. I was pretty much away from the computer the whole of last week as my hubby got very sick. So I was nursing him at home and wasn't in the mood to do much things. He is recovering well and everything is all good!

We still managed to celebrate day 1 of Chinese New Year before hubby fell sick on day 2. I chose my brightest coloured dress for day 1 to signify a bright and fresh new year ahead!

This is a late post, I'm actually at week 37 of my pregnancy! It's just 20 more days to my estimated date of delivery and we are so looking forward to seeing my baby boy. I guess if you see that I'm missing in action from blogging again, the baby boy is most probably out to say hi!

Spring and flowers

It's Chinese New Year next week! Chinese New Year or also known as the Spring Festival is the most important holiday in the Chinese calendar. My plan was to wear this dress during the celebrations. The bright colours and flower prints are so apt for this festival. hehe but baby is growing so quickly these two weeks that this dress is a snug fit for me now and I'm not sure if I can still fit into it in a week's time.

It's a Chinese tradition to wear new clothes from head to toe to symbolise the beginning of a new year. I can still remember how excited I would be about the shopping dates with my mother for new sets of clothes and shoes before the festival. Now that I'm much older, I'll go get my own new sets of clothes and it's still a fun affair. It's the few occasions in the year where it's fully justified to go shopping. haha.

Sail away!

I got this dress during the Christmas sale and I found the best occasion for it almost instantly - a nautical theme countdown party! These days, dressing up for themes can be challenging. First, it's about finding something that fits the theme and then the outfit has to fit my bump! haha.
I made a simple sailor bow tie with some scrap red ribbon and a gold button. My friend made that sailor hat, really cute isn't it? And these are my colleagues all dressed up for the nautical theme!

And after that, I have been wearing this dress for countless occasions. lol. I'm seriously wearing the few maternity clothes in my wardrobe to death. Well, I don't have that many weeks left for these dresses too. I can't believe it's week 33 already!

Look big and look hip

Getting bigger by the day calls for a drastic fashion change for me. For one, those tops and bottoms I like usually fit at the waist but I don't exactly have a waist now! haha. I was gaining a lot of weight in my first trimester that by the end of the fourth month, I couldn't fit eighty percent of the stuffs in my wardrobe. It was tough shopping for new clothes because of the natural instinct to pick out fitting clothes, then remembering that I need a waist for these pretty numbers.

I have been shopping for clothes that can accommodate my growing bump now but don't look oversized for me after I pop. So, bottoms with elastic waistbands like this pair of printed soft pants from Topshop are my new found favourite. And the long cardigan? That's to hide my incredibly big hip. hehe.

It's my personal motto to look big and hip. hehe, I welcome any tips!

Into the army we go

The military trend has make a comeback in Autumn and it seems like it's going to stay for another season. Hee, I'm finally not too late in hopping into a trend! This jacket is such a perfect outer for me to look cool and stay warm at the same time. I absolutely love the mix of faux black leather and military sleeves - that's double the cool factor! And I'm tripling the cool factor because it's embroidered with my name!

There are some items in my wardrobe that I really like and can't bear to give away, like this black dress. Maybe I was just waiting for a day like this where I can put together the new and old stuffs and be so happy (and slightly smug, haha) about keeping the old dress and creating a new outfit with it.

Oh, maybe I can keep the dress for little while more.
