Oh!! The Phantom of the Opera is there, inside my mind for very very long time. I had longed to watch this musical for the longest time, and for various reasons I was not able to view them the previous times they came. BUT, I finally went this time! Weee!!!!
Do you ever have those urge to sing along to music in the public when you can't, like in the movies or theaters? I was almost biting my lips to prevent myself from singing throughout the show! Well, I was in the choir during my Secondary School (aka high school) days and I loved singing, I still do, but just don't sing as much. Phantom brought back so much memories, as the choir used to sing a medley of Phantom songs. Well, I can't even name one single favourite as it would be a whole string of favourites.
For this round of performance in Singapore, we had Brad Little as the Phantom and Claire Lyon as Christine. I must say Brad Little's performance is ridiculously good! Besides the two leads Andrea Creighton's portrayal of Carlotta is also very entertainting, and I too like Eleanor Waite as Meg Giry, who was so adorable.
The costumes are beautifully intricate and the set had so much surprise. I almost jumped when the chandelier smashed down above my head, and the river boat scene was so real! Well, since photography was prohibited during the show I only managed to capture a small photo of the gorgeous stage after the performance.
Right: The Beautiful Stage and Chandelier
Bottom Left: The back view of my parents
A little story about my parents: they met in the choir and I think their love for singing and their beautiful voice was passed to me through their genes and their love for me. :) So, I thought it was only right that I asked them along for this beautiful performance.
