Never too much

As far as the 80s makeup is concerned, there can never be too much colours on your face. Colourful, bold eyeshadows, heavy blusher define the looks of that decade. Inspired by the palettes of the 80s, I decided to ditch my favourite neutral colours and experiment with more vibrant colours.
My mum recounted to me how she used to love drawing on blue liner. Blue was a very popular colour for shadows and liners then. So, I chose blue as my primary colour. I used a brownish gold for the highlight and added a tinge of pink at the inner lids. I used a bright pink for my lips and topped it off with some lip gloss. For the finishing touch, I put on pink blusher generously to accentuate the cheek bone.
Honestly, I think I could still wear this makeup out. hah, but this also implies that the intensity of my 80s inspired makeup is nowhere close to that of a real 80s look!
What do you think of the 80s makeup, is it too much for you?

  1. I wouldn't wear 80s inspired makeup out everyday, but I LOVE how you look with this look! Very Pizzazz from Jem but much more toned down!

  3. You make 80's make-up look so chic and wearable! Not like what we've seen in old movies and magazines, its much more refined and pretty.

  5. You look so pretty in blue. I do appreciate 80's take-no-prisoner attitude about makeup.

  6. Cool ! You look good in the 80s look! I remember being sabotaged by strong blues and greens for performances and special occasions when I was a little girl!

  7. oooh… i LOVE this look! super pretty and FUN! :o) i have a few super bright Lime Crime colors which work great for 80's looks - their intensity & opaqueness is off the charts if you want to try something brighter. xoxo

  8. You pull the 80's makeup off well! But its quite full-on for these days huh? But least you know now how to do it well for when it comes back in fashion again...

  9. Hmmm 80s make-up is not bad, but the issue I have for myself is the eye make-up! Since I have small eyes, all the colours generally can't be seen or we're limited to a certain number of colours. Plus when I get make-overs a lot of make-up artists tend to try use eye make-up look to try to make my eyes look bigger...using purple? THe result, 80s eye make-up gone bad...I look like the anchor woman Connie Chung from 1987.....

  10. its funny i never though id be able to wear blue on my eyes for some reason but this is making me think i might have to experiment! i think trying different make up looks is so fun, but i'm pretty lazy too and a creature of habit so i pretty much do a variation of my same make up every day haha
