A day at the bookshop

Prints and patterns have always been out of my comfort zone. I never knew how to wear prints and patterns other then simple stripes and polka dots. I was always worried about looking over the top, old or even trying too hard. Anyone share the same fear? The turning point came when I was introduced to the world of fashion blogs by dear Ashley. lol, I didn't know fashion blogs existed all my life - I'm missing out so much then! Seeing how you guys look fabulous and have so much fun in prints and patterns, I got really inspired to try them out.

Floral top from Champage A'Dore, Far East Plaza
Scalloped shorts from Closet Affair, Far East Plaza
White tights from H&M
Shoes from Underground, Far East Plaza
Bag from Far East Plaza ( I can't remember the shop name)

To be honest, this outfit is pushing the limits of my comfort level a little. It garnered me a lot of stares the moment I stepped out of the lift. My outfit is definitely over the top by standards since at where I stay, looking casual and plain are the norms. But do I like this look? Oh yeah. And will I ever wear this outfit out again? I certainly think so!

Thank you ladies for all the awesome outfit posts and inspiring me to widen my comfort zone and play things up with prints and patterns. I can't say that I'm absolutely comfortable with them now but my days (and my wardrobe of course) definitely look more fun and colourful with some prints and patterns!

  5. I adore the whole outfit! The shoes are my favorite! I've been trying to find an affordable pair of scallop shorts for a long time now, too.

  6. Actually i think your top is not too loud, it's how you completed the look with the stockings and shoes that might get a few stares at the void decks!

  7. I love your outfit :) seriously! it's super cute. it's like from a japanese fashion magazine. your makeup looks great too! i know what you mean. sometimes i dont wear outfits that i envision/like because it's just a bit too out there for everyday and getting a lot of stares is not something i'm that comfortable with yet. but definitely doing it more and more opens us up naturally.

    thanks for sharing :)
